Grandma's birthday!

It is Grandma's birthday, and we children don't let a birthday slip by. A chance to sing and eat pancakes? Never. Last year we had just such a nice party at the Oasis restaurant in the dunes, so we'll try it again this year. Only the forecast isn't sunny weather, like it was last year. The day starts of ok, but by the time we get there, it is definitely showery. We wait in between showers, but as we walk in, one shower decides to hit us. And hits us well! Like drained cats we arrive, with the rest of the crowd sheltering!

But it is worth the waiting for the pancakes, the gifts, the singing. And I drink and sleep in my usual rythm through it, taking in the noise and the stories as they told around me.
