Visiting Karen

We have time to sleep a night over at Karen's place, Karen and her friend Wybe, of course. And we are going to have fun! Karen has saved her birthday present from us: we are going to make glittering domes.  Wybe has his nephew and brother for a visit, Lucas and Marijn. So, no lack of people.

Even Wybe's mama and papa are in town, with their boat. I love boats!! And then I get to know Lucas better, and I think he is soooo funny. I laugh all the time.

Mama and I sleep in the beautiful upstairs guest room, and we wake Karen only at half past eight! That's late! Karen always thinks of fun things: the glitter domes, making cookies, and in teh forest she find the perfect mushroom: red and white dots, but we have no camera to show it to you.

Blijdorp

It is a beautiful sunny day, but a bit chilly. Ideal to visit the zoo. There are lots fun climbing objects, but when mama is ready to photo, there are other kids also climbing. There is a bird's nest and a turtle.

We like the sea otters, they are very playful and swim a lot. But the best comes when we get to the seals: the seal is playing with us, touching my hand, over and over again.

Helping papa with the trees

My papa is taking down part one of our trees: we get too much shade.  They are heavy logs, so I help my papa in this awkward corner behind the bush.

Fun at the dinner table

Muschka

Today I want to do everything with Muschka: first we play with my clay together, then we dance together, then she needs to sleep. I put her to bed.

Chateau Chillon

We visit a real castle, Chillon. When we are inside, I ask: is this the castle of the princess? And mama says yes. Princesses wear dresses and dance. We go to the princesse's ball room. Unfortunately there is no music. Luckily mama's phone has ring tones!! We dance and have fun. Then papa takes me on a tour through her rooms: her bed, her toilet, her kitchen.

Then we sit on the beach nearby, and I swim with the russians: we are tough. And we make sure we are photographed in the act: proof for home!

Sausages in the forest

Still nice daysin our holiday, today a day for a fire meal in the forrest. It is still a bit chilly when we arrive in the morning: 7 degrees. But surprise: we find blue forrest berries! Mmm, fresh berries are worth a pick. As we stumble through the little bushes, we suddenly see a little mouse skirting away. I hope we didn't take all his winter food! But I like the berries!

In the little stream behind us we see a schoolclass getting a cross-country cycling lesson: always feet on the pedals!!

Wine tour through Ollon

There is a wine tour in Ollon. The touring goes with old buses, a little road train or even Citroen 2cv's. You buy a glass and then you taste. We love that! Here I am standing in front of the old bus cabrio. Below mama and I are waiting for papa who is getting us food from the Abbey. Mmm, life cannot be much better!

In the Swiss mountains!

Yes, we have made it, a small holiday in Switzerland. We are lucky with the weather and the lift into the mountains is open. Papa and mama want to walk, but I find walking very hard in the tall grass and the rocky path. We settle for a lunch with a view in the restaurant. With a view of the cows.

Hair dresser

When I go to the hair dresser, she washes my hair. I quite like the warm water over my head. The lady is very careful not to let water get into my eyes. Still, I am a little bit apprehensive.
Then it is time for the cut. I tell the lady: 'I am three and when I am four I go to my primary school'. The lady is impressed.

Pizza and a movie

Mama is not at home for dining, and then it is fun time for papa and me. Pizza and Snow white on the tv.

The Lone Star Western stable

The horse stable has an open day and we are curious. I have often talked about a horse in my backyard, but papa and mama told me that we could not do it, even it would be fun! So, perhaps these are our backyard horses?
There are lots of horses! And the best is that I can take a ride on a horse too!
After my afternoon sleep it is still beautiful weather and I can play in my bathtub outside.

Reading Snow White

I love being read to. Snow white today. She has a step mother, her mother is with the stars.

A walk on a beautiful day

It is promissing a beautiful day, and mama asks me: 'what do you want to do?' 'Go with my bicycle', I say. So mama thinks of a nice place to go with my bicycle: the Vlietlanden. There happens to be a little beach too, who knows?
We walk a stretch and then return, I am getting tired. The last bit I do on the promiss of warm chocolate milk with two straws. No camera, so you can't see the blue skies.

Spakenburg and the Zoo

It is not everyday that one has business in Spakenburg. So, we make a picture of us in front of one of the many churches. Today we hand over the keys and papers of our holiday home. Pain in the haert,  but it is not of use anymore since we have a house with a large garden.

And then it is time for fun! Zoo! This zoo has so many fun objects to climb on, just something I like!!

My school

We make a stroll and there it is: my school. I tell everybody: when I am four I will go to school. I am already very excited about it. Every chance I get I want to see my school. And they have a play ground!

p.s. check out also my queen's day blog:http://ceslog.blogspot.com/2010/04/queens-day.html

Happy birthday, papa!

It is my papa's birthday, happy birthday papa. Do you see the garlandes that mama and here is your gift! My papa wanted a gift that we could play together, and now we are making a car from the wood. There is even a hammer that I can use, with real spikes.

We are making the examples on the cover: a car, a table, and a chair: they will fit nicely with my puppet house. Papa is really handy with wood!
But the hammering I don't like! Au, to my ears. I cover them with my hands and prohibit him to hammer. But then we hammer anyway, hands on ears and all.

Then I place a wooden papa, mama and baby on the new chair.

Clay and letters

I have selected these letters in the shop. I like collections, and this is one too. It is even more fun, that I can use my clay with it. Clay is still one of my favourite games. Right now I am working on Aunt Hannie's letter, as you can see. And wearing my new shirt from Greece, that I can pull down to a dress, and push my arms through on all sides.

Gouda

Today it is time for something else but my town. And for fun going by the train. It's been a couple of months since I have taken the train.

When we get into Gouda, after a very exciting ride of course, I decide it is time to eat cake. 'Cake, mama', I say. And so our search for a cake shop starts, but we get into the shopping mall and no cakes. We go off the beaten track, and there is a hair cutter: 'ol' cutter' he is called. What is your name?' he asks, and I say my name, my full name! 'Do you like hair dressers' sweet?' he asks, and I nod yes. That is free candy!!

And then finally we come by a garden, free entry and there are chairs to sit! Here there will be cake! It is the Museum about the Resistence. It is also against discrimination. And they serve excellent cake. On the way back we step into a needlework shop, something for a rainy day to try out.

The walk back to the train station is a bit too long: mama takes me on her shoulders. Ice bear  has sung all the way along too.

Meet ice bear baby

Look what Karen gave me: an ice bear baby. He kicks his arms and legs, just like a baby and he can sing! He sings a bit unsharp on the high tones, but he is a baby after all!

While mama and I are eating a lunch sandwich, baby sings next to us.

I am totally taken by this baby and he sings all day!

Camping?

We're going camping! With Aunt Karen. Yes, finally. Unfortunately the weather forcast is not very good: strong rain. But we take off anyway: we'll see. First stop is the beach in Noordwijk. Strong wind here: sand in our eyes all the time. But we enjoy the fresh weather. And I enjoy the trampoline. We go with the flow and sometimes the sun even comes out.

Then we are tired, the men on the beach take down the flags because of the strong winds expected. And then we decide camping is not a good idea. I sleep in the car and then we're home again!
It was a fun day and papa, mama and I eat in the tent on the first floor of our house.

Nienke Donker

There is a temporary lady at day care, Nienke. She sometimes takes us on her lunch walk. That is fun!! She gives us a little drink in the shopping centre.

Castel Duyvesteijn, Island Nick, Butterfly garden

Mama and I have been at home the last couple of days: time to get out. We go to the butterfly garden, but first a cycle ride through the castle park and have a hearty lunch.

The cycle ride is fun, but they shouldn't have gravel paths: why? I fall a couple of time, and those stones bite in my knee. After the third time I feel quite sorry for myself and we need a band-aid. But the lady of the restaurant on the island - well, you have to cross a bridge to get there -forgets my band-aid. Luckily the lady at the butterfly garden in Voorschoten gives a band-aid. Now I can walk happily through the beautifull tropical garden.
This is a fun trip, on a drooling sunday.

Jim and Pat

And suddenly they are there: Jim and Pat from Australia. They arrived in a car from Paris, on their way to Friesland. Jim lifts me up when he sees me, even though I am a bit shy. That is funny!! But we can talk about one thing: what does the cow say? and what does the dog say? Funny, the animals talk differently in Australia. They sleep in our new guest room.

A saturday morning

It is a Saturday morning and we are taking it easy. I am playing with the wound cream and with my new alarm clock. Yes, you are seeing it right: a real Cars clock. I have picked this clock myself in the shop.

Even though the clock is mine, my mama has taken it over. She sets it, and when we hear the alarm, I do a pee. Then we won't forget it! It keeps me dry.

My new bed

I was outgrowing my bed, time for a new one. You guess the colour! Mama's brought it from work and all the accessories are there.

I am enjoying being able to get up as I like, although I don't dare getting out of my room on my own. I wait until mama or papa come to collect me.
