My long eye lashes

Well fed

I have just been drinking and my belly is so full!! I think even my cheeks are full. I snooze to let it all sink. Nice and cozy in my mothers arm.

Length measure

Ces knows how the measure works: you hold the scale there, and draw a line above your head. And then you know: 1 meter and ten centimeters.

Waking up

I have slept really well. It is warm, and I kicked myself free of the blankets. Then I give a big smile at mama.

Gabriella turns 4

Party time! Gabriella turns four! Nancy is also there. What can go wrong when there is cake, lemonade, pancakes, a bbq and good friends? Nothing! Good ingedients for a fun time.

Ces wears her party dress. She nearly always wears her princess dress, but for parties she makes an exception. You remember the dress from my parents wedding?
It surely was bought to last!!

This is my first party. Mama and I join in a bit later, only for the bbq. It is very exciting for me. I sit on papa's lap outside and watch it. But after a while the noise is too much, and I want to go home. It's fine, one should leave a party at its height.

Different faces

My different faces while I am playing. I am enjoying playing so much, let the dolfin fly with a hit from my hand!! I can play longer too. Untill the sleep comes: one big yawn and mama brings me to bed.

Laughing and smiling

For a week now, I have been smiling, but not often for the camera. I saw mama and papa and Ces smile at me, and thought I should smile back.

I pull the corners of my mouth up and let my nose curl. And then they smile back at me!!

I also try to make the funny sounds that they make, like little words. It is very hard to make the vocal cords work.

Bedtime busy

Bedtime is always fun, everybody is busy and running around. I want to participate in that and join in!! Pfff, my mama and papa say.

Portrait drawing

Papa, mama and Ces are sitting outside, drinking a beer. Ces thinks this is boring, so she makes a drawing. She looks at mama and draws eyes, then again a look: mouth. Then nose, arm, legs, fingers, hair and at last the hair bun on top of her head. Papa has short hair. And teeth on his shirt.

Drinking the bottle

I am now six weeks old, time I learn to drink from a bottle too, my mama says. I can do this, see!

Thank you!

I have received a 'Welcome to this world' card. In fact I received so many of these cards from all of you.

My sister expresses our feelings: she writes Thank you (in dutch: dank je wel). She knows how to write letters, and papa or mama tell her which letters to write.

And then she draws my mama: with long hair.

Walking in the evening

I don't like evenings. Somehow I just can't get into the mood, and just cry a bit. Mama says: 'A good opportunity to go for a walk for us.'. And so I walk with my family. Through the tunnel under the road and up to the river Gouwe. On the other side of the river they have just built the new port of my town and here we walk into the fields.

The children's doctor

I am going for my check-up at the children's doctor. My weight is nog 5.04 kilo and my length is 55 cm. The length is average, the weight is more than average. I am proud: a baby should be nice and chubby!

The doctor is happy about me and so are my parents!

Horse farm

The horse farm has an open day in this season of foals. So papa and Ces are going. The horses and foals are fun, and the play yard is great. But the big surprise is .... there is a chocolate factory!!! And Ces can make her own chocolate and then eat a dark brown chocolate cake.

Dolfie and Dolfina at the market

On Saturdays mama and Ces often go to the market. It is a bit of a trip on Ces's bicycle, but that is the fun of it.

Once I joined in, in my pram. I really enjoyed that. But today the honour is on Dolfie and Dolfina.

Dance performance

It is exciting! The last lesson of dance before the summer holiday and this is a performance for the parents. And for Dolfie and Dolfina, of course.

Ces is dancing all the dances she has learnt: the Butterfly dance, the Train dance, and mama can help with the Feet dance. At first Ces is a bit shy, but then she swirls and dances with the other girls.

After the summer Ces wants to continue. Then it will be the the real thing, with tutu's and all. Wonder how that will be...!!

Afterwards Ces poses with Dolfie and Dolfina. And the rose, of course!!

In the maxi cose at the dentist's

At the dentist

It is a busy day, we go to the dentist, and of course Dolfie and Dolfina are joining us. I am coming along as well, although the dentist says I don't have to open my mouth yet.

Ces goes and they count her teeth: twenty! And all well brushed. Well done!

Burp with Dolfie

After drinking I always do a burp. It helps settle my stomach. I am lucky: I can play with Dolfie!

In the baby bjorn with my papa

While mama and Ces were at dance, I woke up. My papa can't feed me (yet), and so we have to wait. I am quite comfortable against his belly.

Dolfie, Dolfina and Spetter (Splash)

Exciting! We have three guests! Here you see Dolfie and Dolfina, Splash is tied to the bag and you cannot see him. This is a school project from Ces. They stay for a week, and at the end you write down what the D's have been doing at our home.

Of course they go with Ces in bed. Watch for them the next couple of days!

Too tight, too tall

At five weeks, I have outgrown my first suit!!

Cherry picking season

The cherries are ripe again, and mama brings out our new large ladder. I love climbing ladders!! I'll help, but the cherries I find not sweet enough. I like the big sweet cherries we buy on the market.

Gabrielle comes to play

Ces has invited Gabrielle to come to play on this Pentecost holiday.

For lunch Gabrielle chooses bread buns with sausages, that is her favourite food, she has written in Ces's Friend book. And eating on a bench in the kitchen instead of at the table, they taste even better!

Gabrielle is also very sweet with me.

Ces plays at Raphael's

Ces is having a day play time at Raphael's house. Fun! She can't wait to go. Before breakfast she asks mama: 'Can I go?'. No Ces, mama says. Raphael only wakes up when the little pointer of the clock is between nine and ten. Let's have breakfast first. Then the pointer is between nine and ten, and Ces asks: 'Can I go now, mama?'. 'Hmmm', mama says, we should allow them some quiet waking up time. In half an hour I will call. Then the pointer is at ten. 'Look mama!', Ces says, the pointer is at ten, will you call now? And finally she can go!

When mama comes, they are all playing outside, also the girl from next door, and Ces does not want to go home. Of course, if you get pan cakes for lunch....!!

Picknick before dance lesson

Ces is going to dance lesson this afternoon, so we picknick in the park between school and dance lesson. That is fun! We sit in the park in front of the old girl's school. Now it is an old girl's house, if you know what I mean.

After Ces has eaten, I am hungry too. I get a feed in the park, but it starts to rain. That is no place for a little boy to drink! Luckily we can get in the dance school house, and I drink while Ces is dancing.

Next week she will give a performance. Then we'll finally get to see what she has learnt!!

My red sea horse

When my sister was about five weeks old (see blog), she was getting interested in the little sea horse. Would I be ready to play? So far, my mama had removed all toys, because I did not like too much around me.

I am looking and yes, thank you mama, I like it! I haven't touched the sea horse yet, but just watching it swing is fun too!

A moment with my papa

Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa are visiting for the afternoon. To play with Ces and to hold me, of course.

Sterre visits me

And this Sunday morning Sterre comes to visit me. I greet her, and then go to bed to sleep. Luckily Sterre can play with Ces.

They fit side by side at the new table. And then they perform a nice dance for the parents. A deep bow at the end and large 'Bravo' is their reward!

Swimming pool in the back yard

It is warm, and they promise more warm days: a good opportunity to put up the large bath tub for Ces. 'Come on in, papa!', she says.

Ces plays with me

I am getting more grown up, and I am better able to handle the noise around me. I think it is fun if Ces wants to play with me! After all, I have been hearing her voice for a long time now.

Drinking and resting

I have been drinking from mama, and now I am well satisfied and take a small rest. Then I am ready to play!!

Picknicking and picking flowers

Yes! Picknicking for lunch today. Suddenly Ces thinks of something: making a bouquet of flowers, just like mama always makes. She runs inside to collect her scissors, and then she goes around and cuts the flowers. Fun! Normally the flowers should not be touched.

Having a drink outdoors

Ces gets a checkup from the children's doctor: can she draw a line? Can she build a bridge with blocks? Can she speak sentences with more than ten words? Can she see the pictures on the wall? Of course, of course, of course! Luckily all is going well.

But then she gets the jabs again! The last of vaccinations for a while. She is really a big sister, and only few tear drops are spilt, no noise!! Well done!

I am going on the scales, and note a good 4.4 kilo!!

Then my papa needs to do a little shopping nearby and mama and I wait for Ces and papa while having a drink in a cafe. I is turning into a long trip for me, and I am not sure if I still like it. But it is a family outing and that is fun!

In the picture below papa and Ces are returning from their shopping. Ces is learning to cross the roads, so now she carefully studies the road to see if traffic is coming. No traffic - they can cross! Well done again, Ces!
