Talking

And then I am big, and I have a big basket (on my bicycle), and then I can make my own sandwiches, and then you are small and I carry you. (we are cycing home from the market).

Visiting Simon and Alex!

Do you come for dinner?, Simon says. Great! And we go. I really enjoy our visit with Simon and Alex again. Of course, first we come across Simon's play ground, and we couldn't skip that, could we?

Inside I am quite taken by Simon's 'computer', while Simon wants to play jumping games with me. In the picture I am feeding Simon icecream.

Alex is also becoming a real big boy. He is making clear what he wants, and he knows what he wants. Alex and I can also read books together, we are reading the animal book together. And the Simon calls me to join him. He is convincing too.

And did you know that uncle Frank makes lovely deserts? We help him. Yummie again! And then it is late and we need to go home!

Strawberry cakes

It is spring, and there are strawberries! Mmmm, yummie!

On bread in the sunshine and who needs cakes?

Painting

Mama, can I paint? Not aquarel, but real (latex) paint? And this time I am painting for an hour in silence! I start by painting a bridge, with railing and something under it. About the first time I am painting something real.

And then it is on to painting hands on the paper. I start with a couple of fingers, and make a nice hand on paper. But then I make layers and layers on my hands, on my shirt, on the paper and then onwards on the table!

It takes a bit of cleaning later.

Friday night

Friday night, but since our rest yesterday, we feel quite rested and energetic. While mama is cooking, I happily play in my sand pit.

I am really surprised when she shouts: 'Dinner is ready'! I completely missed helping her!

I talk

Mama and I are eating. I have stilled my biggest hunger and now I can play a bit in between. I suddenly remember my new library book: if the animals would start doing our sports, they would be the champions. The lion can jump far, the rhinoceros is very strong. The monkeys would have the roam of the play tools at day, the children would have to wait untill they sleep.

I tell mama the story from the top of my head.

'And then that monkey goes sleping, and then that monkey goes sleping, and then that monkey goes sleping, and then we can go, yeah mama? Yes, it's like that! And then that monkey goes upstairs (I point up our stairs) and he goes sleping in my bed, and then I go downstairsand then the monkey comes down too, and then that monkey, and that is ok, right mama? Yes, because he is my friend. Yes, I like that!'

I eat a bit more. And suddenly the tofu with the pasta has turned into a book. 'Book open', I say, 'mama is sweet, yes, that is what it says, yes.' And then I eat the book.

Asparagus with Grandma and Grandpa

Yes, we keep it up!

Grandma and grandpa invited us to eat asparagus. They'll buy extra nice ones.

First we listen to a big band and then we go for a walk. We are searching the mama swan and six baby swans, but they have gone for a swim.

Mama plays a game with hide and seek, but I was afraid that mama was just going away. I did not like the game.

Then we go to Grandma's and grandpa's house and eat.

Erin is back!

Well, we're trying to keep it up.

Erin was back! Erin is mama's friend from Australia, who was my most favourite person when she visited last year July 30th. And now we meet again.

We think she would like a sunny day in Holland, so we take her to our beach. Then she can see how well I can swim.

Will she take a swim too or find the water too cold?

And then a bit of dutch scenery in the town of Voorschoten. The quiet town is all busy: why? A Jeu de Boules tournament! Or is it Petanque or Boules? Apparently smoking sigars is the thing to do with this. The main street of the town is covered in sand and a heated game is on.

And then we have a meal.

Even though I can understand Erin all the time, I understand she likes to play with me, and I really like that!

Vlietlanden beach

If you are reading this on May 22nd, then you'll be surprised: a blog about today! Strange. No specific reason, who knows how it will go?

A long weekend and for a change warm weather. Although the northerly wind keeps sending polar wind. Still, with lots of food we go for a little beach, and perhaps we just walk around it.

A new beach for us: Vlietlanden. As we go there, I 'am' Simon, and so this must be Simon's beach!!

It is very nice! Lovely sand and lovely water. Just that wind! But I am not deterred and run around through the water and dip my belly in. There are other kids playing too and they say thewater is nice, and even mama makes a swim. Then it gets too cold, I keep shiffering, so we walk to the other side. That is much better!!

This channel is interesting. I dig out the mud and let it slip off my hands onto the mountain.

Quite refreshed we go home.

Liberation day in the zoo

It is liberation day, and we go to Amsterdam. Usually there is lots of music there. But this year there isn't. The park is all quiet. So we go to the zoo. It is very close to where I was born. Mama shows it to me: here you were born, Ces!

The most funny thing in the zoo are today the penquins. As I walk up, we are the only visitors. A penquin decides to take a bath and as he sees me, desides to splash me! Haha, that is fun. Some others join in, and soon it is a splashing pool. It is obviously bathing and cleaning time for them.

Then it is our time for pizza.

My words

You would have understood that I like talking now. In fact I can talk any word you want: circusdirector, trainmachinist, you try it, I can say it. But some (dutch) words I have a feeling are different than what I say:

liefestift
panden poetsen
Pinnie the Poeh
roterammetje

he/she

Playing music lesson

Mama and I are playing music lesson. We are singing our songs, and songs are not complete without the moves. This is with a bell. When the bell sounds, you must drop to the floor! The fun is to wait for the bell to ring.

And fire

A chilly Sunday afternoon and out chimney is recently cleaned. The man even climbed on our roof!!

My papa gives a good blazing start.

And then we drink a glass of lemonade in front of it and watch the flames.

My new raincoat

Queen's day has been. The morning was completely rained out. But we still went to the flee market, where people sell the things they don't need anymore. In my town, there are always lots of toys for sale.

The first thing we buy are rainboots. You know that my feet have grown two sizes the last half year? So new boots are good. And a rain suit? Can only come in handy.

I love my new suit and boots. It still rains, and that is great: now I can wear it in style!!

Queen's day afternoon was sunny and we went to the music parc.
