Queen's day

This morning we went treasure hunting on the free market. It rained very much and after a while all the toys for sale were soaked. Still we found a wooden house with an elevator: great!

But now it has cleared up, and we are going to listen to music and watch the arts. And have a drink of course. I sit on mama's shoulders to see the musicians.

Keukenhof

It is a sunny day and we want to do something outdoors that we all like. I take my new bike and we go watch tulips. It is a dutch highlight for anyone visiting, and about time I saw it too. It is a lovely park with trees and birds singing. But I will have to learn to watch for people when I am on my bicycle. And eating ice cream on the lawn is not allowed, mama!!

I say: 'Mama, look, goat!'. Those pointy ears, and looking from the below.....

Can you see my papa waving at me and mama inside the labyrinth?

Duck visit

It is spring, and we get ducks for a visit a couple of times. They check out our pond. This female walks up my papa - would she want bread crums?

Making a train

I like playing with puppets and replaying things of my life.

And of course trains. A train full of people.

Simon's beach

It is warmish, and so we have to go to a beach, Simon's beach it will be. Mama forgot my swimgear, so I run around without it. Simon is in Australian wear, well protected.

Grandpa and Aunt Niessia

Grandpa couldn't make it to my birthday party, but he brings my present now. A water slide. But only cold water goes in, and the outside temperatures are not quite up to it. But I want to sit against the pillow. Just like the pillow in our bath tub.

Mama can cook

While mama is cooking I can play in the sand box. On my birthday cake there were Tiger and Winnie the Pooh. And a bridge and trees. Ideal for playing in the sand box. I can run around the garden, and mama can see me everywhere. Gives me some freedom, although I prefer if mama plays with me.

Play-doh

I got a box of play-doh clay. It is really fun. There are all sorts of shapes and forms to make and little cups to store the clay in.

For days I am completely taken with it, and the house is covered in it.

My new bicycle

It is the morning after, and we are all feeling great. Time to try out my new bicycle.

I am still getting used to it, the speed will have to come later.

Garlands on my birthday

Yesterday I came home from day care, and I saw the garlands, and running inside I yelled: 'My party, garlands for my party!'. I have my own garlands!!

And now papa and mama have sung for me, and I have my party hat, and a the gift! It is complete. This afternoon I'll have my party.

My party!

It has been my party, and I have tremendously enjoyed it. All my cousins and cousines were there, and all my friends from day care. It was sunny and we ran around in the garden and in the house and we carried toys from the house to the garden and back into the house.

Alex and Timo's little sister Manou watch the rabbits
Sterre and Koen play soccer together
Amber, Simon and I play all sorts of games
Timo and Gabriella run through the crowds
My neighbourwoman Wil gave a surprise visit.

We get pancakes to eat

Hair dresser

Mama and I have been to the hair dresser. We had an appointment at the lazy hour of ten o'clock, but papa had adjusted the clocks to daylight saving time. So we are there before the hairdressor lady!! She cuts us anyway! And makes two braids in my hair, that is why it is now so wide. But at least it is not hangin in my eyes anymore.
Had I told you my papa is back home? He is!!

Amber's birthday party

Amber invited me to her birthday party. That is exciting! And a good rehearsal for my upcoming party. We are both turning three!
Gabrielle and I arrive together to a party and a house full of kids. Amber takes us out to her garden house, we have lots of fun out in the cold.

Then we eat cake. Amber has south american family and they made a surprise box. All the kids pull a rope and the bottom falls out. Lots of little gifts fall on the floor and we all collect them in our bags. I am surprised and forget to collect. There is a nice lady who puts some gifts in my bag.
And then it is time to go again. Now I am looking forward to my own party even more!

Found an egg!

I found one! A chocolate egg. At easter, I was quite happy with the egg that I found at easter. No hard searching for me. I rather play.

And I have saved something for today! It has survived several several rains in the garden.

My tree is in bloom

We are going to our holiday home, and three years after I was born, my tree is in bloom again! Mama mows the lawn and meets the lady. I am very happy plaing around and looking around. A change from the home scenery!!

Later I play on the play ground, and mama sits in the sun. We eat outside with the local restaurant. So much fun for both of us! It feels like summer.

My letter dragon

Papa gave me this from Ireland. I found this puzzle very difficult. And it still is, but that is the fun!

I know my mama's letter and papa's letter and I know my own letter, so we play letter games. And in between mama tells me what to do.

By now I nearly know the puzzle by heart.

Outside in the bathtub

It is sunny, even if not so hot. But mama says that I can splash with some water. No, no, mama! Splash is not enough. I want cloths off and sit IN the water! Finally she gives in, in the corner of our kitchen window it is always wind-free and sunny in the evening. While mama is cooking, I am happy in my tub.

Zoo Blijdorp

Finally we have a day of rest. Grandma is not well, so we don't visit them. In the lazy morning we heat our fireplace. But then it gets boring. 'Do you want to go to the zoo, Ces?', mama asks. Yes!!

It is busy in the zoo, of course, but not unbearable. At least we get plenty of time to see the Flamingo's near the entrance, waiting to buy our ticket. It is great in the zoo! I am happy running around, going from the baby elephant to the penguins, fish, baby giraffe (2 days old!), crocodiles, marmottes, and an emy, like Aunt Valerie gave me. And we ate two muffins, an ice cream and french fries.

And in the end I have a great time in the play ground!

Luckily mama carries me on her shoulders back to the car, because I am tired, well tired.

Easter weekend

It is a cold Easter weekend. But we need fresh air, so we are going to look for baby sheep. Mama cycles, and I sit packed in warm on the rear seat. The sheep and their babies are standing in the field, happy, but separated by wide canals. These cows have also babies, big babies, just like me. Mama hasn't told me, but today I am turning 3. We wait for papa to celebrate the birthday. Big party coming up!!

Grandpa and Aunt Niessia

Grandpa comes to visit us in the afternoon, with Aunt Niessia. That is fun!

We play games with letters and puzzles and Aunt Niessia plays on the piano. And then we eat together.

Of course it is my birthday, but I pretend not to know and we will wait untill papa is back.

Swimming with Simon

On a dreary Saturday, what will we do? Swim!! With Auntie Hannie and Simon. Of course no photo's. Simon has learnt to enjoy water in Australia, and mama and I have been swimming lately too. We have lots of fun!

And then we go back to Uncle Frank and Alex who has cooked for us.
