Theater the Fairy Forest

Grandma takes us to the theater, the story of the Fairy Forest, het Sprookjesbos, something like this. It is a story about a tall lumberjack who is bewitched by the witch so that he wants to cut the fairy tree. There is little redhood, the wolf, a dragon, a little goat, and -my favourite - princess Cinderalla.

They all sing very nice, and I like the show with all the characters and songs.

Building cupboards

And then it is time to put the planks together to a cupboard. I help mama!

A new cupboard

We are busy re-arranging rooms in the house. I am going to sleep in the upstairs room, and mama's room is cleared to the vide. We need new cupboards, but which one? Time to visit Ikea. Mama photographs the candidates, but I insist she must include me in the photo's!! Ikea is fun, and there is a restaurant. That makes it all the better!

Wall painting

This morning I remembered what mama had said about wall painting yesterday, and I ask if I can paint on the wall todat? As it is waterbased paint, mama and papa allow me. Of course, mama should paint the Baby Pete I saw on television. I am still wild about Baby Pete. Then she gets the taste and paints all around the woodfire place. I certainly cheered up our wall, and papa says we can have more of these walls!

Walking in the dunes

It is sunny, a pity to stay inside. We forget the camera on the walk and while we eat our bread bun in the snow and sun shine. But even the parking lot is beautiful for a photograph.

Wall painting

'What do you want to do today, Ces?' my mama asked this morning in bed. 'Shall we go for a walk in the forrest?', hmmm, I am not really keen, but we went anyway, as you saw. 'Or shall we arrange the new rooms? Or shall we paint some walls?' And the last I like!! Paint on some walls, although mama left out the 'on'. But today she makes me paint on paper. And on myself. I want to be Black Pete, and papa helps me. But purple is fine too.

Simon plays here

Simon's mama has to join his papa for a Christmas dinner. But this is fun! We get to play together. Simon always likes to feed my rabbits, outside we surprise my mama with large clumps of snow. A snow fight! I didn't know what it was, but now I like it! Screaming we run through the garden.

We play Sinterklaas and Black Pete all day, in the evening Uncle Frank comes to join us for dinner. He tells us to play Jozef and Maria. But with Black Pete hat!

My brother!!

In mama´s belly there is a little baby. A boy, mama and papa tell me, but to me it is a baby. A new friend! But it is another five months waiting.

Christmas decorations.

Now that Sinterklaas has left us, we can get the Christmas decorations out. We don't have a tree yet, but for the time being this small tree will do. Lots of lights to brighten it up.

The garlands are fun to play with, or make necklaces from.

Aquarelling

Aquarelling is no fun, if the hands stay clean. The adults always like paintings with my hands.

Monkey climbing

And then it is time for a session of monkey climbing with papa.

The big gift: a train rail

This was the largest gift: a train with rails. And the best part: a bridge. The train rides by itself. I like to let it run around and around.

My new hair band

One of the gifts is a new hair band. "This is a beautiful hair band!" I yell when I get it.

The big Sinterklaas day

It is finally the big day for Sinterklaas to bring his presents. Suddenly there is a big bag in the hall way. This is so exciting, all these gifts!!

Rabbits in the snow

The rabbits seem to enjoy the snow too, finally their fur comes in handy. And the roof is insulated with an extra layer.

Snow man

And then suddenly it is winter: cold and snow. Lots of snow. We make a snow man and still can't see the pavement. Good sticky snow too.

Sinterklaas weekend

You wouldn't believe how active this Sinterklaas is. This week Joke from day care took us to the local shopping centre, where he happened to be. And yesterday we took a look at the hospital for mama, and who was standing there? Sinterklaas. With his black Petes of course! And this morning he came to mama's work. In the books kids are always shy with Sinterklaas, but why should I? I just run to him and tell him stories. And I like the candy Pete gives.

We make Pete hats too.

Sterre turns 3!!

Sterre has turned 3 and now she throws a party! I get to play a lot with her new toys and eat delicious food. Especially the apple sauce: I never get to eat that at home!

Grandpa's birthday

Finally we get to give our gift to Grandpa. He has turned 84!! Grandpa is lucky to have three little - and curious - helpers.

Playing a game of Carcasonne

On this Saturday afternoon papa, mama and I are playing a game. I am slowly learning about games: waiting your turn and then someone wins. It is a test for my patience, and concentration, but fun to do with papa and mama.

Sinterklaas in town

Last week Sinterklaas arrived from Spain in the Netherlands. I have seen it on tv. I wasn't sure if it was tv or for real. But I have received gifts in my shoe all week and watched the daily journals. I was so excited: there is a baby-Black Pete, and I love babies.

Today Sinterklaas arrives in my town. With his boat.

As you can see, I am thoroughly enjoying watching it from atop papa's shoulders. I sing the songs and I wave to Sinterklaas. Today I get real close up.

In the audience there are Pete's everywhere sharing pepernoten.

Bijenkorf

Mama wants to get out of the house, but we can't really go outside after my having being ill yesterday. We can park under the Bijenkorff and walk into the shopping mall. And it is a drive into Amsterdam.

Look! Climbing Black Pete's!! They climb up and down the rope. And I eat a purple cake, or rather, I choose it, but don't eat it. It makes good lipstick. And then we go all the way down over the roller's to watch the bear display. Oh, and we bought Grandpa a gift for his birthday, tomorrow.

Afternoon in Amsterdam

We have been stuck in the house for a couple of days, because I was not feeling well. So, now we want to sniff a bit of big city life on this dull Sunday afternoon! Watch some shops and shop around a bit.

The blog book

I am reading the book of this blog. We have made print of the blog, and now I can view it anytime.

I am not sure what to think of all these pictures of myself. Strange to see oneself in a book. But it is fun to see all the other people I know! I can't get enough of reading this book.

Visiting Karen

We have time to sleep a night over at Karen's place, Karen and her friend Wybe, of course. And we are going to have fun! Karen has saved her birthday present from us: we are going to make glittering domes.  Wybe has his nephew and brother for a visit, Lucas and Marijn. So, no lack of people.

Even Wybe's mama and papa are in town, with their boat. I love boats!! And then I get to know Lucas better, and I think he is soooo funny. I laugh all the time.

Mama and I sleep in the beautiful upstairs guest room, and we wake Karen only at half past eight! That's late! Karen always thinks of fun things: the glitter domes, making cookies, and in teh forest she find the perfect mushroom: red and white dots, but we have no camera to show it to you.

Blijdorp

It is a beautiful sunny day, but a bit chilly. Ideal to visit the zoo. There are lots fun climbing objects, but when mama is ready to photo, there are other kids also climbing. There is a bird's nest and a turtle.

We like the sea otters, they are very playful and swim a lot. But the best comes when we get to the seals: the seal is playing with us, touching my hand, over and over again.

Helping papa with the trees

My papa is taking down part one of our trees: we get too much shade.  They are heavy logs, so I help my papa in this awkward corner behind the bush.

Fun at the dinner table

Walking in the dunes with Grandpa and Grandma

It is promissing to be a beautiful day. Warm sunshine in the sand of the dunes.

Muschka

Today I want to do everything with Muschka: first we play with my clay together, then we dance together, then she needs to sleep. I put her to bed.

Chateau Chillon

We visit a real castle, Chillon. When we are inside, I ask: is this the castle of the princess? And mama says yes. Princesses wear dresses and dance. We go to the princesse's ball room. Unfortunately there is no music. Luckily mama's phone has ring tones!! We dance and have fun. Then papa takes me on a tour through her rooms: her bed, her toilet, her kitchen.

Then we sit on the beach nearby, and I swim with the russians: we are tough. And we make sure we are photographed in the act: proof for home!
