Swim hat

Mama's swimming bag is around again, and curious me investigates. Haha. Ready for a dive!

Tossing in the air

Papa and I are playing, he is tossing me around and throwing me in the air.

Ascot Party

Today is the hat party with Karen and Wybe! We dress ourselves up in our fineries, I am wearing the 'wedding dress'. And our hats of course!!

There are lots of people with 'great' hats, and this sometimes in the real sense of the word. The Queen is also there and mama kisses her. There is even a lad on a horse.

We drink tea with our little pinkie raised and we eat lots of cakes, cakes with strawberries, with chocolate, and just scones with cream - mmm, yummie!

I turn wild on the jumping cushion, and the hat becomes a bit of a tedious thing. And there are pictures on stickers and scissors, so we kids can make paintings. And then there is pizza from a mobile oven and ice cream! Yeah!

The water hose

It has been dry and warm. Mama pulls out the water hose, but I take over. Mama is happy if I water the plants and she shows me how to open it, and let the water spray.

Wow, the power I feel in me! Something to shoot with! This is fun! We play with the water hose: mama screams when I point to her. She gets wet. We run around. But sometimes the hose turns and I spray myself too. Right in my face! First I think I should cry, but mama and papa laugh, and yes, it is funny. Then it is time to go to bed, and we pull off our soaking wet cloths.

Making flower hats

We will go to a party with a hat: an Ascot party. The hat needs flowers. Today we are making the flowers. We cut flowers and pin them on a wire. Papa will get a wire with feathers for in his pocket and on his hat.

I always love doing cutting and glueing games.

Baby potatoe needs papa potatoe

I help mama dropping the peeled potatoes in the pan. Plop! in the water!

I have a baby potatoe in my left hand. It is small. The large one in my right hand is thus a papa potatoe. 'baby potatoe, papa potatoe', I say.

These days all my babies are accompanied by papa's.

My papa flies home in four days, my mama told me. I think I understand what that means because I know planes.

I can make pictures

I love the camera, always have done. I want to make pictures too. Mama is showing me, I am aiming and.... shoot!

Koen's birthday party

And more party: Koen has turned two. We have wrapped his gift. I like his gift very much: it is duplo. I have asked mama if I could play with it at Koen's house.

When we arrive I am very shy. Koen is perhaps even more shy. It is hard manouvring when both of us don't dare looking straight.

Later I play with Koen's cousins in the back yard. Koen is really taken with my shopping trolley that I brought. We walk it together and then Koen unloads the content, curious he is.

Street party

Unfortunately no photo's this time, but today mama and I went to a party again. Just around the corner, because it is a street party. There is a little play ground, it is recently done up with a slide and climbing rack. I can climb up to 2 meters easily.

When we get there, it all looks very party like and for the first time in my life I eat sugared popcorn. We get to see all the neighbours and chat. It is good to meet people in the neighbourhood. But after the bbq we leave the crowd to their music: we've talked tired.

Simon visits

The weather is too beautiful to not enjoy, so we picknick! Simon, Alex and aunt Hannie come too. The first thing Simon does when we open the door is run to the piano to make music. Very hot it is, so we run around like we were born and play in the bath tub.

There are quite some butterflies out. They are keen on play-mating and don't look out very well. One butterfly touches my head, I don't like insects touching me, they are not allowed to touch me, and when something is not allowed, then it may not happen. To protect myself I keep my hand on my head from now on.

Untill Aunt Hannie offers to rub my back with water. Mmmmmm, that feels wonderful, why does mama not do that? The butterfly lands on Hannie's hip, if you zoom in, you can see it.

Walk-in rabbit

Look there, a beautiful rabbit is visiting our rabbits. Would this rabbit be a run-away? Or is he just left to roam around?

My rabbits are very excited to meet a fellow. I am sure they wished they could run too. Sometimes "Globetrotter" escapes and we have to run around the garden to catch her.
I am very excited about running behind this new rabbit too.

Party!

We go to a real party! Mama's boss has turned a round number so we surprise him. There are beautiful Indonesian dansers, they danced an intriguing dance with elegant arm movements. I look at them with concentration.

And then we drink lemonade, and enjoy talking with the other people. I even have the jump cushion.

It is a warm sunny day, so everybody is enjoying.

Here the birthday kid opens the dinner rice table.

Serious digging

The other day I helped mama re-plant one of the rose bushes. She taught me how to dig in hard soil: you put your foot on the shuffle and then press hard.

I am rehearsing this in my sand pit, so that next time I can help even better.

Lots of weeds and Thai food

Mama and I go to the holiday house. The lawn has turned into a grass field. With lots of high grasses. Mama starts to use the lawn mower and I busy myself with the little pink bath tub.

The weather turns and the beach is not a good idea anymore. We go for Thai food, after Sterre's beautiful card from Thailand. No Buddha's here, but a beautiful golden statue of a lady.

Card from Thailand

Ha, mail for me! A card from Thailand all the way. Ah, Sterre send her regards with a beautiful car card.

Sterre has posted some nice Buddha photo's, she knows what a Buddha statue is now. See here or here. She really travels the world!

It is so nice on the beach Strip

Hello, shall we go to your beach strip? I say to Simon. Yes!! he says. You may find this boring, all these beaches, but we enjoy them enourmously. The water has cleared up since we were there last. And I am now totally into this swimming thing and Simon and I roll around in the water.

There are some other people there too, not many though. A man kicks a ball with Simon and then makes a summersault into the water! Wow!

We go to Simon's house and eat dinner there. Simon shows me his puzzle, but I am not allowed to play with it. I think he is proud of his puzzle. So we run up and down his sandpit.

Bicycle at the market

On Saturday mama and I often go to the market, grocery shopping. We park the bicycle nearby, with the other bicycles. When we come back laden with our groceries, and my belly full with the fruit I tasted, we begin our struggle to load them all on the bicycle, and not led the bicycle topple.

The keys is what I like best about the bicycle. And turning the pedals with my hands, but mama is always afraid the bicycle will fall on me. It never does. And the last thing is that I climb on and off we cycle: back home. Hopefully with the wind in our back.

Beautiful beach

My papa has to leave for work again. We bring him to the airport, because then we get cake. Then we watch the planes and papa gets me a balloon. Then we kiss and say 'see you soon!'.

Today they have promised us a beautiful day. We go to the beach around 5pm, but the beach is still full of people. I can't blame them, it is lovely. Mama has dragged me in the buggy all the way to the waterfront. I hope the buggy will still work after all this sand!

It turned out that this became a really lovely beach day. First I didn't want to go into the water, brrr the waves! But then I felt the water with my toe and it was lovely! In the end I was up to my neck in water and loving it!

We ate a couple of crisps and then went back into the water. By the time it was really late, most people had left and the high water had receeded and it was even better: a long shallow water part. Along with the other kids not wanting to go to bed, I ran around and splashed. And it was still so warm.

When we finally left I yelled: play garden! I want to go to the play garden! I was so geared up, I thought I could play forever! But mama said it was beyond my bedtime already. We ate fries in the car for dinner.

The beach dinner

This morning we work, my papa said, and this afternoon we can go to the beach. Yes!!! And this time we are not rained out: mama disappears for a swim and her hair is all wet.

Papa likes nice food, and he has spotted his restaurant on the beach. It looks really nice, and still they let us in on our bare feet! Wow, papa has chosen well: lovely food and lovely ice cream to finish off!!

While we sit there, the sun sets. Look Ces, says mama, how nice the sun makes a path through the water. My moon shine!, I yell, My moon shine! I have a song about moon shine, that is how I know.

Choosing my clothes

This morning I insisted with papa that I choose my clothes myself. A short skirt with cotton pants is really trendy and hip, I have seen on the street. Do you like it?

In my hands my red cloth that I take to sleeping. Sometimes I carry it around the house too.

The ferry

We are with the three of us walking around the neighbourhood through the wet and rain. We had just been blackberrying and then we saw the little ferry.

Our bridge is away for maintenance. The cars have to detour and for walker and cyclers there is a little ferry. The men on the ferry are drinking coffe, because it is not very busy in the rain. We can make a little tour with them, they say. I ride my bicycle on the ferry. We circle the river Gouwe and land back on this side. Bye for now! Have a nice other cup of coffee!!

Papa´s Hammock

We haven´t seen my papa for a while. A lot of noise from the shed, is all we heard. But then this appears! I love it! Papa and mama swing me. This is very comfortable - once you are in. Getting in is a trick I am still learning the hard way: boom! I fell on my bum again! But: once you are in, you're in!

Yes papa! More shed work please!
