My favourite street

This spot may not seem much to you, but this is my favourite spot in my street, see also block-houses.html. There are steps, and little pathes and intriguing mail boxes.

We are walking into town, well, mama took her bicycle with her, in case I get tired. But this stop may be our final destination, if it is up to me!

Play with Lele

We are going to visit Gabrielle, my mama says. Hmmm, that is strange, Gabrielle is from my day care, we never go to her house. And what about Amber? No, Amber is at home, mama says.

But it is good fun to visit Gabrielle. We run around and we get to watch Teletubbie's. It is different with Gabrielle at home - and it is difficult to share her toys. And when we go, Gabrielle is so sad, that she cries....

The rabbits to the doctor

The rabbits are going to the doctor because the nose from Pluis is not really healing. I like going to that doctor: he has a farm play house and lots of play animals and the farm has a door.

Ever since we were in Maastricht, I am very busy with doors. I now know what a 'house' is (not the series that papa watches) and it seems that every house has a door. House, I say. And Open. That means door.

Cycle hats

Next to cafe Dudok is an information desk. The kids that walk around there....

I am just getting into the mood of this place and refuse to put my hat or coat on. Very cleverly I divert my mama's attention by pointing at the things in the shop or by looking at thing in a very cute way. This always works - for a little while....

Visiting Sterre

It is such a long time ago that we have seen Sterre, and really we live quite close to each other. Today we go!

Sterre is at first a bit shy, but I think she has really good toys. And then, exciting for us village folk, we go into town. And have lunch in Cafe Dudok. Sterre and I share a pan cake. yummie! With sugar!

Next time Sterre and I will know each other better.

Cooking

Cooking is still the best thing in the world. I cook everywhere: upstairs, downstairs, in the kitchen and at my table, and even in my bath.

I drink from my cups, stir with the spoons, pretend to cut with knifes, pour water from one cup to another. It is an endless game, but I still have a lot to learn: pouring water is really difficult! And it often goes wrong. Then I learn how to dry it with the cloth!

Here my mama gaves me some grapes. It is end of the day and I am hungry. But it is nearly dinner time and all I get is grapes. I am squeezing the "La Vache qui rit" cup, it makes a funny sound.
En then the kitchen looks like this, mama walks hurdles while cooking.

More painting

We are putting sticky labels on another part of the wall. I am stickering also the old part of the wall, after all, that is where mama taught me to label in the first place.

What do you think of the colour? Now the doors stand more out: they also need a new paint....

In the sunshine

A rather pleasant day out, even I don't mind it too much, although I don't like being out in the garden. It is boring and with my coat I can't really climb all the steps we have. But mama is out there, so I have no choice...

Then she wants to make some you you's and I am happy. I now also know to pose and smile on command, although the smiles sometimes come out a bit funny, rather wicked!! And then I get up and run to the youyou to see what came out of it. Actually, I like looking at the youyou, because I can lean against mama and hold my head against her head....., it is like a cuddle!

My preferred lunch table

Mama wants to sit at the large table for lunch, but I like this table. 'Sit, sit' I say and point to this spot. Why not? my mama says. I am much more free here, to move around while eating and we get lots of crumbles everywhere. But the view to the garden is nice, and so mama is happy too. Nothing we couldn't clean....

Hair cutting

I have to go to the hairdresser, my mama says. I know what that means, because in one of my books the girl goes to the hairdresser. She says: short and cool. And so the hairdresser takes off all her hair!! And she is very happy.

Mama and I have played the hair cutting. I put my hands in my hair and I say 'knip knip knip' (cut cut cut). I know the word hair dresser now, mama doesn't even need to make the hair cutting movement. (My mama is so impressed with the words I recognise).

All is well when we go there. There is a little boy with a waft of hair sitting in the car chair. I don't look at the boy, but read my Donald Duck book with mama.

But then mama puts me in the car chair! NOOOO! Now they are really gonna cut my hair. NOOO!! I put up a fight, but in the end they pursuade me with candy and the funny duck book I remember from last time. Hmmm, am I a push over?

In the picture I am half crying and half smiling. The 'you you' is too nice not to smile....

Library

We have kept our books from the library as long as we could. Today we have to return them. Actually, if it hadn't been so cold recently, we would have gone more often - it is fun!

Then again, we had some really nice books, with really nice pictures.

Putting sticky labels in the house

A new game: we put sticky paper on the wall! That is fun!

I sit on the plastic protection film and hope mama will make a 'you you'. She does.

It is a fun game, but the other things on the floor she doesn't touch. What are they for???

Note from mama to the reader: you have recognised the tools for painting, no doubt. Probably painting a wall with a little child is not such a good idea .... I don't even dare pulling out the ladder for 'stickering' the ceiling. Afraid to bring out the mountain goat in Ces.

Sinterklaas

You haven't seen me with Sinterklaas yet. Mama found this picture on the label board at day care. Sinterklaas came to day care. With two black Pete's as you can see.

I think I was shy at the time.... Luckily Jantien is holding me.

Papa working

We bring papa to the airport again. I have slept only half an hour in the car and now I am a bit excited, as you can see from my red cheek. But I won't sleep the rest of the afternoon either!

I like bringing papa to the airport: I always get a nice cake and the airport is a good place for children to run wild. And then we kiss and wave. He is gone again.....

On the way back my mama tells me: 'papa is working'. I am learning lots of words now, and also I want to understand what just happened. So I repeat: papa wokkin (some letters are a bit hard), and mama repeats for me: papa is working. This is how I learn words; repeat, repeat.

Since a week or so, I understand that words make sentences and that I should string words together. I can now put two words together. For example: monkey kiss. This means that my monkey wants a kiss (before sleeping).

The rest of the week we repeat 'papa wokkin' a couple of times a day: when I see his toothbrush, when I see his coffee cup and also just random.

Alex and Simon

My papa wants to see Alex, my new cousin. So we go and visit Simon and Alex. Alex is much bigger than when we saw him, but he is still a very little 'baaby'.

The sky is bright blue so we go for a walk into their town. Simon and I have fun with the steps and curbs. And walking hand in hand is fun too!

It is very pretty where Simon lives.

Make up

Mama and I are brushing our teeth. Mama is doing up her face and I am playing with the tubes and pencils. Mama is so concentrated that she doesn't notice that I am much better at opening them. When she notices I have the pencil with black poking in my eye and on my nose.

My group at day care

This is my group at day care. The ladies are Jantien, Ilse and Joke. I sit between Felicia, who likes me a lot, and Gabrielle. The blond girl is Amber. Nancy is sitting on Joke's lap. Next to her is Moussa, then Lieke. Behind Lieke is David, he has the same age as me.

Maastricht for the weekend.

I have had so much fun! We went for the weekend to the city of Maastricht. Maastricht is a lot of fun! It has a lot of stairs and curbs, good for walking.

Mama and I went for a little shopping spree.

And mama and papa drank a lot of coffee, and other things. I drank also lots of nice drinks. Carefull! my mama kept saying. You know they went for this trip without bringing any napkins for me? Luckily they have a Hema in Maastricht.

Oh, and we visited the art galery, where they had lots of paintings of mama's with babies. The art gallery was great for running around and making noise too.

And then we drove home, while I slept in the car. Not!!!

Pampers for puppet

This puppet has often 'poopoo', you have seen that before. Today I decide that the puppet needs real pampers for that. It is hard to make it fit!

Texan food

After a while the music of the belly dancing gets too much for me. We go for a quiet bite of food. Pancakes or Texan food? Texan of course!

Look at my beautiful children's chair in style of the rest. These days I love spread the butter myself on the bread. It is something I still have to learn.

Belly dancing

It is belly dancing party again, just like last year. Karen is belly dancing and we are going to watch, because it is always such fun!

I can't remember much of last year's party, but this year I look in great admiration at beautiful cloths and lovely dances.

There was also a little girl dancing on her own with a little boy playing the drums. Only the little girl did not want to dance anymore. She stood on stage and shook her head: 'No' she said. 'Come on! It is fun!' her mama said. But all she did was shake her head again, quite determined: 'No'. After five minutes the belly dancing lady picked her up in her arms and they danced together. The audience had had a lot of fun! But I understood the little girl: I would not have danced at their will either!!

Here you see me watching the other ladies dancing.
