Zwammerdam
It is a lazy Sunday. Come on! Let's stretch the legs. We cycle to next town Zwammerdam, just 4 km's away. Wind in the back to go - that means we have to push the pedals on the way home!
This is our turn around point, the bridge over the Rhine. We cycle up on one side of the river and we cycle back along the other side.
We have just had a cup of coffee and a drink of apple juice in the local pub: Cafe Gezwam. My mama and papa don't understand it, but I laugh about the joke. Haha!
It is the last day in Holland that you are allowed to smoke in the pub. There are some desperate smokers inside. Hihi.

Day care party time
Later mama has to watch safety of the jumping cushion. She says it is nerve-wrecking: all these near accidents!!
In the mean time papa and I mingle in the party and eat cheese and meat.
But at the end mama sends everybody off the jumping cushion and then it is little children jumping time! We both go on!

Granddad and I play with the ball
I have been wondering for a while what papa and mama were doing when the ball was going between the two of them. But some days ago, I suddenly saw how fun it is when you roll the ball to each other. We play this game a lot now. The promised picture of me kicking the ball is still not made.
Today Grandpa visited us. He brought me a skippy ball. It is a funny ball, it doesn't always roll, but sometimes. And you can throw with it. Papa, mama , grandma and I play with the ball. Very relaxing for all of us!
new jabs
In my new town we also have baby check-ups. It is in the big building on the round about, the lady has told us. Is there only one big building? There are lots of round abouts in this town. When we go to child care, my mama has to drive over ten round abouts (nearly, it is actually four, but on a very small stretch). And when she continues on to work, there are six more.
Anyway, we know where the baby doctor is and here we come, all shiny and healthy. I am now 10.1 kg and we don't know how long I am, because they say they should not measure me because of my hips. This is news to us, but alas. The doctor listens to my lungs and asks if I can walk and talk - yes and no. And then it is play time. Until the jabs!! Yukkie, these are horrible. My mama and papa feel very sorry for me.
But in the picture you see I am holding a cup with raisins and all dressed up again. Yummie, all is well again. Just wait to see if I get ill in ten days or this afternoon.

Sitting together
This is what I like best now. Sitting together with other people. You saw me sitting with Simon. And now I am sitting with papa and mama in the evening sun. I sit and I get up, I sit and I get up. The act is better than the situation. Papa and mama don't do this, they just sit..... boring.
But sometimes we all stamp our feet together. Then sitting is even more fun!

Uncle Frank's birthday party
Simon's father has his birthday party. The whole family is there, even Simon's cousin who now lives in Sydney. His name is Kay and he is eight months old. Look, there he sits. He is a tall boy and he can stand already!!
Later the rest is gone and only Simon and I are left. We play together with Simon's duplo and the balls. We run inside after each other while we scream. This is fun!! The louder the better.
We both like sitting on the doorstep. But I have got to hold on to the ball!

Buying plants
We have a backyard full of plants, but it is always fun to buy more. And we need a present for Uncle Frank for tomorrow. It is a nice day, so we cycle to the nextdoor village, Boskoop, and visit the garden centre there, it is a beautiful old-style garden centre.
My papa and mama let me run around there. That is good fun! I even walk over a bridge without any leans - but my mama helps!!
They even serve coffee and lemonade. And then we cycle back home along the long river - but the wind is in our backs!

Hungry!!
You know, I do not always behave so well. When I am hungry, I behave pretty badly. I cry and cry and hang off mama's trousers and I will not let her go. You wonder why I need to act so desperately?! Obviously every day again I have to wonder if she will feed me again!! And I am hungry in the morning before breakfast, around lunch and before dinner. Dare call me fatso!
In the evenings it is worst. I am tired and hungry, and then mama starts to cook! I will not let her trousers go.
I now get grapes before dinner, while mama carries the hot pots around and cooks. Sometimes I get also cherries with the stone removed. You know, I love both. I am a quiet little girl then.

Swimming exam
Last week I had my swimming exam. We had to drive all the way back to Amsterdam for it, but it was worth it. They had put colourfull drapes up above the pool and afterwards there was coffee and cakes. And we chatted with all the other mama's, papa's and kids that we know from this year of swimming. Another goodbye.
If you read what I had to do:
- sit on the side and jump in the water (with help)
- have water float over my head.
- 'walk' through the water.
- 5 meter on my back getting pulled.
- 5 meter on my belly getting pulled.
We all passed and got the diploma's you see here. And then we sang a song for ourselves and clapped our hands. Yeahhhhh!!!
In the photo you see the plant before our kitchen window reflected.

Yoghurt outside
It is very warm this week. We eat outside every morning and evening. We get the evening sun on our veranda.
Here you see me eating yoghurt. Everynight I get yoghurt for desert and I like it very much.
You see I can eat yoghurt all by myself? I don't know how it works, sometimes I have more yoghurt on my spoon than other times. Mama sometimes turns the spoon up side down for me and then it works better again. But I like the yoghurt so much, that I'll spoon on regardless. And if I loose a drop here or there? Who cares! There's plenty. And the leftovers mama eats!!

The mill from the other side
This is our (see message May 10th) wind mill again, only we are cycling on the other side of the river now. The river is the 'Oude Rijn' (old Rhine). In the distance you can see the big iron bidge over the river the Gouwe. We live in the corner where the Gouwe floats in the Rhine. Lots of high bridges where we are.

Knikkerbaan on Sunday morning
We have a busy weekend. My mama had to sing on Saturday night, so I sleep at my grandparents house. Grandpa is really busy on Sunday, so we are on the road really early.
Who would be awake? Of course, Matthijs and Jasper are awake! Yes, please, come for coffee they say. Do you wanna play with our knikkerbaan. Of course, if I knew what the name in English is, I would tell you. In fact, my mama said: "knikkerbaan? what is that again?". But we realised when we saw it: you build a track and then you let the marbles run down. This one is chinese made, so all the more exciting if it will actually work and stay upright.
I play with the boys. They are really gentle with little girls. And we even get sandwiches for lunch: that is how long we stay!
Who is that man hiding in the corner?
