I've got places to go
This is how you will mostly see me these days: reaching for something. I have to excercise and I want to see and feel everything!
This weekend we stayed overnight at the grandparents, because my mama had a party to go to. I was a good girl, she said, only I should not want to play at five am. And especially not bang the toys hard on the floor at that time. But that is when I want to play and I want to play hard!

An American visitor
I am taking my Saturday afternoon nap when I hear a voice with a twang. That is a different sound! It is Richard, mama's collegue from Louisiana, America. He is visiting us for the afternoon. Mama and he talk a lot.
We go for a walk to the cafe and drink a beer. And then they continue talking while I have my dinner and go to bed.

A cold walk
Oh, what a pity. My mama forgot to make a picture. And that while we have seen so many nice things.
We meet mama's friend Ina and her sons Matthijs and Jasper. They visited me when I was just born. Matthijs told me so, because he remembered it! That is really good of him.
We take a walk through the dunes. It is a bright clear day, very cold but nice. Jasper is a bit tired and he wants to sit in my buggy. I think that is fine, because mama carries me in the Baby Bjorn. Ina surely like to walk, because she always points to a point further away where we may turn around back to the restaurant. And then another further point.... The sun is setting and then we see 7 deer. I fall asleep while walking and wake up. My hands are very cold. But still no restaurant.
Finally we are there and we eat pancakes and ice cream! With red cheeks I fall asleep in the car.
It was a beautiful day!

The high chair is heavy
We went to shop for the high chair on foot. That is Amsterdam, you can do it all on foot or bicycle.
But the chair is heavy and mama hasn't had coffee yet. So we stop at a cafe. My mama and papa say that I am behaving very well and that they are proud of me. I get to try it bit of cheesecake and applecake. Wow, I want to go to the cafe all the time!
And so do papa and mama when I am behaving well.
High chair
Look! I have a high chair! Now that I am a big girl and can eat fruit and vegetables my papa and mama think I should get used to table dining. It is really cool to sit just like them and eat.
Only then I get tired and start rubbing my hands in my eyes. Just when red beet is on the menu.

Waiting
We go back to the photo making place and then to the doctor. Today we will know how it is going with my hips.
But first we have to wait a very long time. My mama sighs. There are many children playing and waiting. At one time there are eight children playing with six bicycles. My mama sends my papa to enquire about the progress. Then he sighs. In the end we go for a bicycle tour around the room. That is good fun!
Unfortunately the progress is not much, I will have to wear my brace for another three months. It is a pity, but not the worst. So we go home a little bit sad, and tuck away the champagne.

The next step
And another week has gone by. I am seven months old tomorrow. I wake up very early these days. Or so my mama tells me with a funny voice. But today is a good day: she picks me up and lets me play. Normally she puts me back in bed, and that is soooo boring.
It is still very dark, but can you see my latest trick? I know this is the way of the future. I am sure I can reach great things, if only I can move forward instead of backward!

Simon's birthday
Wow, my cousin Simon is big, he is one year old! And he throws a party.
His papa and mama gave him a car dashboard and he is very happy with it.
He can honk now, and turn the wheel, make vrumm, vrumm sounds. I don't understand what is the fun of cars, but I am not a boy. Although the sounds this gift makes are very funny.
Simon has four neighbour kids. This is Luuk, he and I play with the balloon. So, it is a good party for me! He holds the balloon, while I chew on the cords. |
