Not funny

My Mama tells me that people comment I smile all the time. Well, this is not true, just on my web log I smile all the time. If you know me, then you know that I know what I want. And if I don't like something, I will tell you. And if you don't listen, then I will tell you louder and my face will turn red. And my arms will go up and down in anger.

But then, I am such a push-over: just talk to me, and I'll giggle.

Sleeping over

Mama and I go to the grandparents in the evening. We have dinner with soup and fruit torte. I eat with mama from the baked fruit. Mjummie!! And grandma has bought this really cool sillicon spoon for me and Simon, just so I can learn to eat.

And then I go to bed. The next morning mama pretends nothing has happened, but I know better: she went out. But I was a big girl and just slept all that time!! And woke up at my normal time in the night when mama was back. But mama is tired in the morning, so I play silently in my bed and pretend I haven't noticed.

Mama wants to visit the animal farm, but I dirty my pants and then we need to clean up and time lapses. So, we just go for a walk in the park.

Back home

When we get home we look at the animal farm on our square: a pigeon farm it is. We sit and watch the pigeons and the people on the square.

I love watching children play, even though I am still too small to play with them.

Peach

What is this? Slippery and sliding! I try to push it in my mouth. Just to feel it. Eeeeh, strange! It has a taste? It is interesting, but not for me.

But you know what I have found? My thumb!! Just yesterday. That is a good alternative.

And now mama is going to re-dress me, and all this before going to day care.

Simon's holiday

Cousin Simon is back from holiday, so we go to hear the exciting stories.

They crossed the Alps to Italy, relaxed, walked in the forest and went to trendy places like Florence. Although Simon told me that he really visited Florence for his parents.

In the picture his mother is teasing him before he eats his dinner: big boy!!

Car-free Sunday

Amsterdam is car-free today. Even the weather knows it is car-free Sunday: it feels like Summer. We cycled to Thalia, and now mama, Diane and I are cycling into the city to have a drink in the Sun. Perhaps it should be everyday car-free day, if this is what the weather is like!

You recognise the curls from the picture in my previous post?

Thalia

Another visit to make: mama's choir is rehearsing for the next operette: La Périchole . But it is Sunday and we sleep in, so we arrive just when everybody is leaving.

There is another little Thalia baby in the making, just look well and you'll see.

With the previous performance I was the little Thalia baby in mama's belly. Mama was singing and dancing and I jumped in her belly. Even now when she is singing that music, I have to stop crying.

Zutphen

Mama's friend Karen lives in Zutphen, which is more than an hour driving. Some people call it Suften, but what is in a name? Apparently this is how it was called in the middle ages.

We visit a little street-fair. There are so many toys for sale, mama gets a bit wild. And even some harlequin romance books for mama herself. Wow!

But Karen's husband Wybe must not know that Karen bought some useless - but oh so nice - goodies herself, so we have a little secret and tell him all the things are for me. Ooh, so hard to keep a secret.

Eating an apple

It is Tuesday and we always swim on Tuesday's. Only today I could swim on the streets if I wanted to. Such a down pour! And we have to say goodbye to my papa, because he goes back to his boat. In the rain he kisses me for four weeks.

But then we play in the swimming pool and all is forgotten. When I get out of the swimming pool I am hungry: my mama gives me a bit of an apple. Well, that is a sensation! A toy that gives off a taste!

These days my mama gives me all sorts of fun things to try. But I am not sure yet that I like all that stuff.

Heather

On the way home I see something purple shimmering. My mama and papa get all excited: the heather is in bloom!

Loes and Koen's daddy

Another birthday party, but without the famous MacMahon cake!! How is it possible?

I hardly get to see Little Koen, he sleeps like a log through the visit: nothing comforts like the murmur of people chatting. I remember that from when I was very small, a couple of months ago.

Croissant and coffee

There is something with people's mouths. I am studying the subject carefully. And I use my own mouth to investigate everything. I drink milk with my mouth. I can make sounds from my mouth. And sometimes mama puts something in my mouth: the horrible vitamins once per day and just yesterday some mushy soury something (note from 'mama': apple). Luckily I know to use my tongue to push things out.

But it is Sunday morning and we sit in the Sun. Now, whatever mama has is always worth checking out. This tastes interesting!! Just the flakes stick on my nose, chin, clothes, .... And in the end I throw the thing aside: too soggy.

Oh, by the way, there is something sharp in my mouth since a couple of days.

Small swimming pool

And in the afternoon we soak in the bath tub.

Saturday morning

It is Saturday morning and mama and papa are slow in getting up. Allright, allright, slow it will be, but some excitement has to be had!! So, we look from our balcony at the people cycling and walking on our square. The autumn sun on our face.

A sunny day at the Vechtoever

Saskia made some really nice pictures of me ....

Grandpa's bee

Grandpa is visiting us, or rather me, of course. He has visited the bee farm in Bennekom, and so we get all sorts of bee things.

The big green frog is a gift from my Papa to me. He says I can beautifully sit in it. I think he has given it to me, so that he doesn't have to hold me all the time.

Grandpa has given me a big bee. Grandpa makes bzzzz-ing sounds to go with it and that is so funny!! I giggle and laugh the whole time. He likes making jokes.

Hip brace checkup

We go to the hospital to check if my hip brace still fits. I grow so fast, you know!

I am being checked a charming young instrument maker, my mother would nearly get Münchhausen by proxy!

This marks the half-way time of my three months in the brace. Only six more weeks to go. Well, it is not sure if the brace can come off after three months, that depends on the photo, but one can hope.

I don't mind the brace too much, although I will let my parents know that I don't agree and I always stretch my legs when they try to put it on.

In the photo you see me doing my usual thing: head up and legs up too: this is to tell mama or papa that I want to be pulled up to sit. If only I could do this myself!!

The small puffing club

We have a mini reunion of the puffing club. All the mama's are busy back at work (we think) and one mama, Alvit, is not feeling well. So it is just baby Karlijn and baby Kes today, and mama Katja and mama Maayke.

But we have a good time. All three of us chew on each others toys. Karlijn chews on my wasp, I chew on Karlijn's Cloperdyclop Horse and Kes shares his toy freely with us, and we with him.

Kes is the biggest baby, but he is a boy and he has a big whaft of blond hair. And Karlijn already can move when she is on her belly. I show them I can sit - with Mama's help.

Here are my friends.

Group photo

The day care is making group photo. Today is not my day care day, but we go there for the photo.

It is not easy to have ten children sit together and sit still and look in the camera all at the same time.

Minke and I are waiting in our chairs. I am a bit tired, because I was swimming just before.

The day after

And the day after we are both lazy. Mama lets me sleep in the bed of Papa and Mama: then she doesn't have to walk so much, she says. But it is also nice to cuddle up together.

Party Time!

I have been at a big party! We went in the evening through the sunset all the way to Limburg and I slept on the way there.

When we arrived my mama took me to a room upstairs where she wanted me to sleep. But how could I? There were people talking all around me and then to miss a party???

First she left me there, but then mama's friend Ingrid came to look at me. She had not seen me yet, so was curious. And she got the prize: I had dirtied my diapers. But she, very brave, changed them and then took me down to the party.

Wow! So many people. I was wide awake and had a good look around. Mama's friends were there and lots of other people. Lots of people wanted to talk with me or hold my hands. Mama had a good time too, she said it was a good party: there was even a fountain of chocolate.

And at midnight we drove home: then I finally slept.
