We're back!

We're back!

It was such a big trip for me! Two days in the car and all the way up into the mountains. It was so exciting. But all went well. So much happened: we had heat, and we had snow! I slept in the forrest and I slept in a three star hotel.

I am tired now, tomorrow I will tell more. Just one picture today.

My passport

Papa and Mama are planning a little holiday in Switzerland. There is a lot to organise. First of all, we need to make my passport photo, so that I can be written in their passports.

The passporters are very strict: I may not smile on the photo and I have to look straight into the camera. My Papa takes me to the photographers. They have a stool that I need to sit on: and I can only just hold my head up!! But my Papa holds me with his strong hands and I make sure I don't smile.
Do you like my picture? I am all crumpled and my left face is different from my right face!

With this photo we go to the city hall. We have to show up all three together. The lady checks my photo very carefully and compares it to me. After that she puts the OK stamp on. Well, that is taken care off, phuuh.

Tomorrow we leave for about a week. I won't be blogging!!

Spring

Remember Mariet? See Mariet 29 April. Well, today her daughter Saskia visits us as well, the second of the three gardening ladies! Here we sit in the sun shine on Papa's wooden bench.
The birds are whistling and all the plants are fresh green after the rain. Look at the beautiful flowers - the yellow one is a Lis, says Mariet. The pink one is our Weigelia.

Everything is growing so fast. Even the parsley has now become a parsley 'tree', that is how big it is! Papa and Mama have to mow the lawn again, and there is a lot of weeding to be done. Their hands are all dirty, but they like that!

Opa

And finally opa can hold me too. He likes to fly, dance and swirl with me. Wait till I am bigger: then we'll play!

Breakfast at Arena

We are having breakfast at Hotel Arena. What a luxury for papa en mama, to dine out! I have breakfast on mama's breast somewhere in a corner.

yuk!

Papa and mama want me to drink from the bottle. Even though it is mama's milk, I have one word for it: yuk! And I make my protest heard, you bet.

Baby swap

After all this time finally I am in the arms of my Aunt Hannie - untill now I always slept when she visited. I am a bit puzzled by Aunt Hannie: she is so like my Mama, but a bit different.

We do a baby swap with my big cousin Simon. Simon and I like each other: while we investigate each other he pokes his finger in my eye, while I try to slap my hand in his face.

Oh yes, my papa came home yesterday. I am so happy. Only, we have no picture of him yet.

Playing with the Big Boys

I had so much fun today! Matthijs en Jasper visited, and I was so excited to hear children's voices. They played with me, those big boys! And I liked that.

These five-finger things

Today I made a discovery. These five-finger things that I have seen flying by all my life? They are my own!
I am not sure what to do with them, but I think they can make the red dragon fly. In the mean time I study them carefully.

The Puffing Club

These babies and I have trained together for our trip into the world: the birthing.

Our mama's - and papa's - trained in puffing and hushing together.

Don't you love those babies!

I am the smallest because I was born last - remember I did not want to get out! But all of us babies have our own unique story of our birthing trip.

We love pink and purple!

Hilde and I are beautifully color-coordinated, aren't we?

Tick Tock Plop Plop

Tick Tock Plop Plop.

What is that, Mama?
That is rain, My Dear.

My first rain!

Here I am

We have a day of rest. This gives me lots of energy to play.

Bevrijdingsdag

On May 5th we celebrate the end of Second World War, Liberation Day, after May 4th, which is Rememberance Day.

Everywhere there are parties: games for children - but I am a bit too small for them yet -, and music for the parents.

My mama and I goes to 'our' park, the Oosterpark, where they play all sorts of music (Southern American, rap, ..) in the music chapel. Elsewhere people sit together and play African Drums. I am puzzled by so many different sounds.

That is a family!

We get visitors from Rotterdam. The family Groenewold is out on a day in Amsterdam and visit us. That is a family: five people!! Here you see the kids playing in the turn-mobile in front of my house. Surely this 'hood can't be as bad as they say if you can play like this!! Although the picture in the background can do with a bit of touching up.

Driving in my car

Do you understand why Mama is so uptight about the maxi-cosi? Doesn't she see that I am comfortable in it and I love driving!! She worries about Sun, heat, draft, choking. And why? This is after all the approved child car seat.

Simon

Aunt Hannie and cousin Simon are visiting. I am sleeping through their visit, but Simon is making up for me by being very jolly and life. He can grip my Mama's hair, I don't do that, yet!
