It is hot, hot today. And dry. Time to play with water.

In the train with my stuffed toys
Saturday morning painting
On Saturday morning I am enjoying that I can play and don't have to run to day care. Today I am painting with the paint that I got from Amber on her birthday party. I am drawing a bridge, as I do these days.I especially like the story about the car with the bicycles on top. We saw one on the road. When the bridge is not high, then the car can not drive under the bridge. But if he puts the bicycles on the rear rack, then he fits under the bridge. Now I draw a bridge.

Coming home from day care
We have just returned from day care. I am eating tomatoes because I am hungry. I am wearing a borrowed pair of pants: my other two pants I couldn't keep dry: when I am playing, I just forget to go to the toilet. But I am happy, and mama likes these pants on me. A pity it is not ours.

My photo
Now I make a picture of my papa. He has to dive to make it to it.
mama and papa and clay
Playing with my clay is still my favourite. I play nearly every day, and we have renewed it once. Today I want my papa on my table with us.Although he is making this picture of course.

Children's Farm
Mama and I have been playing. We were playing domino, but we made a farm with a fence with it. And the horse and cow are in the fence. Now I am sleeping, but my horse is still faithfully in the fence.

Grandma's birthday party
Grandma wants to treat us to a pancake party in the open air. With this weather! We meet at a pancake restaurant in the forest of the dunes. These are the dunes where my drinking water is filtered. We hike through the forest to the old pump station. They don't make 'm like that anymore: delicate tiles, and high windows everywhere. Simon and I run around.
Alex has spotted water and is determined to go in. Aunt Hannie has to throw herself in front.
We quickly eat our pancake and then Simon and I run around on the play yard. We are knights and mama and Aunt Hannie have to be daimsels in distress. We rescue them and lock 'm up in the tower. For their own safety of course.

Walking and shopping
I take my new bicycle, and mama walks. The rain is fresh and pleasant. Only the start isn't quite so pleasant: I bump into the pedestrian way and fly over my steer and fall on my chin. Au! I won't do that again! But I still want to go to the shop, to buy meat for my papa, who is working hard.
Here we are at the new cycle storage for the railway station. Fun this apple! And the tunnel right next to it is even more fun on the bike.
The shopping session takes two hours, but I have enjoyed the journey too!

Simon visits again
Fun, fun fun. Simon visits and it is warm. My large bath is out and filled with water, but somehow we are afraid to make our bellies wet. We play holiday on our highest floor inside the house again.Only Alex goes straight to the water and keeps on sitting in it. He splashes his mum.
Papa and uncle Frank light the barbeque for the corn cobs and sausages.

Eating late with papa
While mama and I lazed on the beach, my papa was working on the new North to South subway line in Amsterdam. He works long days, although he should get some nice days off in between. Because I have been taking a long afternoon nap, we can still eat together late this summer's evening, after he came home with the train.
Katwijk on the beach
On her first day off, I wake up bright and early, and even though we need to hang the washing on the line, we are on the beach first, before anybody else.
It is hot and the sea water is very pleasant. The waves here are smaller than in Greece, but the shells are sharper.
The photo is from the second day, a group of Romanians play music on the beach.
These days I am enjoying the soft sand higher up. There is also a playhouse and a volleybal net. Mama and I play our 'Cars' ball in the net. My neighbour Uncle Niek has fished the Cars ball out of the Rhine and given it to me. It is my favourite ball now. The second day some boys take my ball for a small kick. That is not right! It is my ball! I throw myself on the ball and hold it firmly in my hands. Looking at them I dare them to take it from me. Of course they don't....
After these days we feel again as from holiday!

Papa's walking stick
My papa has hurt his foot. Mama has told him he can not walk. But he has a walking stick for what he needs to walk. I take the walking stick, fun! Now it is raining, and this is my hat! 'It rains, and I need a hat!'.Friday, July 2, 2010
